At McMeans Jr. High, there was a new non-Black student who would REPEATEDLY use the N-word and other derogatory slurs directly towards my classmates and I in our English class. Our teacher was Black and even overheard him talking to us, and did absolutely nothing to stop him at all. However, a Black student in my grade at McMeans said the N-word while talking to friends, was sent to the principal's office, and was given a long form. It seems like Katy ISD really does nothing to stop racist students and hyper fixates on unnecessary discipline, for example, the Black girl previously mentioned being given a long form and other things like the dress code.
En la secundaria McMeans, había un nuevo estudiante que repetidamente usaba la “n-word” y otros insultos despectivos directamente hacia mí y mi compañerx de salón en nuestra clase de inglés. Nuestro maestro era negro e incluso lo escuchó hablar con nosotrxs y no hizo absolutamente nada para detenerlo. Sin embargo, una estudiante negra en mi grado en McMeans dijo la “n-word” mientras hablaba con amigos, y fue enviada a la oficina del director y se le dio una forma larga (una medida disciplinaria). Parece que Katy ISD realmente no hace nada para detener a los estudiantes racistas y se hiper-fija en la disciplina innecesaria, por ejemplo, a la chica negra mencionada arriba se le dio una forma larga y el distrito castiga otras cosas irrelevantes como el código de vestimenta.
